Cranberry and passion fruit overnight oats

I have really been into making the summertime overnight oats lately. These yummy morsels of goodness are so good for you and keep you full for hours and this flavour combination is probably my favourite  that I have tried so far. There are so many health benefit from having this combination to start your day. The traditional rolled oats have so many health properties with helping with lowering cholesterol and many heart issues. It also lowers your blood sugar levels as well as many other things. You can read an article here if you are interested in reading up on the many conditions that having the traditional rolled can help with.

Then you also have your chia seeds which are a great source of omega 3 and protein. They are also high in fibre iron, calcium and antioxidants. Chia seeds can also help  with inflammation in the body.

You  also have cranberries which are another great antioxidant source too. These yummy little berries can help with lowering urinary tract infections and can help as a prevention to certain types of cancers. They can also help with improving your immune function and lowering your blood pressure.

INGREDIENTS:

(This usually makes enough for me for 2 days)

1/3 cup oats (needs to be the long cooking oats not the quick cooking ones)

1/3 skim milk (or milk of your choice)

1/3 cup natural yoghurt (or flavoured yoghurt but you may need to use less because it is runnier)

1 1/2 teaspoons chia seeds

1/4 cup dried cranberries

1 tablespoon of passion fruit pulp.

METHOD:

In your mason jar add your oats, milk chia seeds and yoghurt. Then add your cranberries and passion fruit and add your lid. I then give it a little shake to mix it up. Leave in fridge overnight or up to about 3 to 4 days if you want to make enough for that long. I spilt this amount into enough for 2 breakfast servings.

Hope you enjoy.
